Although Rosebank is offshore and our campaign concerns Egdon's onshore exploratory drilling at Foxholes, there is one important parallel.

The consultation exists because Scope 3 emissions now have to be assessed properly following the Finch ruling. That reinforces the wider principle that climate impacts cannot simply be ignored when consenting fossil-fuel developments. It doesn't automatically determine the outcome of every planning application, but it does strengthen the expectation that decision-makers must engage seriously with downstream emissions and explain how they have weighed them.
